Third Person Closed
Terri had spent half the week posing as bait, hair dyed a rich chestnut color, outfits deliberately bordering skank. For three nights they'd gone out and for three nights nothing, no hint or sign of the psycho bastard who'd been murdering all those women.
It was just like Tampa that tonight, right when she'd had to insist on one night off to finish up some things, he spotted her. She'd been late leaving her associate's office and it had gotten dark but she wasn't scared;Rob and Mike knew what to do if anything happened to her, she'd be back soon enough.
Fortunately for all concerned the guy was really jonesing now, way overdue waiting for a fresh kill and just sloppy enough that Terri heard him a second before he got to her. She had time to turn and start fighting - scratching and kicking, biting at his hand when it came within range and pretty much letting him strangle her into unconciousness, focusing on doing as much damage as possible before she passed out.
It would be a while before she was found but Rob would know soon enough, it wouldn't be too long before word would get back to Mike.
She was going to give Rob and E. Sam the surprise of their lives when that happened.

I've never been the type to trust the quiet but I'm grateful for it, all the same. There was enough to catch up on after that whole Medieval business.

Third Person Introduction
Terri had been out of town when the first reincarnates were made but as soon as she'd returned the Marquis had attached himself to her with such enthusiasm she really had no choice but to be aware. She'd had a journal from that first week and she followed it religiously, never commenting but always taking note of anyone and anything important - you never knew what might come in handy when, after all.
One of these days she'd actually say something but the day was not today; post-storm it was still more interesting to observe, there were still things that could be learned without her getting actively involved... it was how she preferred to work, watching until she felt she understood the situation's mechanics and only then wading in.
It served her well.
